At the Artemio Franchi, Inter almost managed to limp over the line and bring home the 3 points. But a last ditch Vlahovic strike helped by some poor defending and goalkeeping, which until that point was spot on, cost Inter their 2 point lead in Serie A.

Samir Handanovic – 5.5: Made a world class save in each half. Then when he had to stand up, he misjudged the potential shot.Pity as Samir almost had a perfect game.

Milan Skriniar – 5.5: It’s no secret Skriniar is more comfortable on the right side of defence. Solid until the time when Godin came on. Should have fouled Vlahovic.

Stefan de Vrij – 6 : Not the easiest of games. He managed to just stay ahead in the first half and had more control in the second. The late goal ruined his night too.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6.5: Very impressive game all things considered. Chiesa and Boateng were a challenge for someone so young. Bastoni more than passed his exam.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5.5: Quiet game on the right flank. D’Ambrosio usually ensures that Inter don’t concede too many chances but his limitations going forward are obvious.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6.5: Most important midfielder in Inter’s squad at the moment. Too bad he misses the Genoa game. The only negative is that he needs to cross better.

Borja Valero – 7: Borja aging like fine wine. Fiorentina aren’t an easy midfield to play against but the Spaniard showed his class throughout against his former club.

Matias Vecino – 5.5: Typical Vecino performance. Too much quantity and too little quality. Positioning was good as usual, but that’s the only positive for the Uruguayan.

Cristiano Biraghi – 6: Much more defensive work needed on Cristiano’s side of defence and that meant his forward runs were limited. Struggled to cope towards the end.

Lautaro Martinez – 6.5: Lautaro does what he wants. When you give him the ball he almost always managed to produce something. Interesting to see who plays in his place.

Romelu Lukaku – 5.5: Selfless. Always tries to play in a midfielder or Lautaro. However has missed 2-3 goals just in the last week. Needs to be more cynical in front of goal.

Matteo Politano – N/A: Its almost impossible to see him stay at Inter in the long term. Doesn’t make an impact and can’t even thump a dead ball into the box in the 95th minute.

Lucien Agoume – N/A: Still very young and it showed in his positioning. Not the right match situation to be judging someone like him. Maybe we’ll see more of him against Genoa.

Diego Godin – N/A: Was missing high up the pitch when Vlahovic was making a succesful charge towards Handanovic. Failed to show his experience and cool head.

Antonio Conte – 5: There is no doubt that the bench doesn’t give Conte many options, however Inter never looked in control and sure of the result at any moment.

Maurizio Mariani – 3.5: How many points just for turning up? Fell for Fiorentina’s dives all game. Some bookings were hasty and some were late. Never in command.

Inter – 4.5: Yes, it’s a difficult game with so many injuries. But the poor finishing and defending at the end cost Inter the buffer of 2 points. So close yet so far.
