Paris Saint Germain director Leonardo has confirmed that Mauro Icardi’s future with the club is entirely down to the player himself.
Icardi joined the reigning Ligue 1 champions on a season long loan during the Summer transfer window with PSG having an option to make his stay permanent come the end of the season for a reported sum of €70 million.
“His future is in his hands, it all depends on him. There is still half of the season to go. I am very happy because in him I found so many positive things,” he told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
“I found a helpful guy who understood the situation and what his future at PSG could be. He works a lot, he is also decisive and he is absolutely a true number nine.”
Since arriving in the French capital, Icardi has made 16 appearances across all competitions. In 1051 minutes, he has scored 13 goals and provided two assists.
