Inter are set to acquire Parma full back Matteo Darmian in either January or in next summer’s transfer window, according to a report from yesterday’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the Nerazzurri have been following the 30-year-old Italian since his arrival from Manchester United to Parma in the summer and are now fully convinced by his performances.
So convinced, in fact, that it seems certain that he will join Inter in either of the upcoming two transfer windows.
The Nerazzurri have identified the need for more full back options, the report highlights, and Darmian is a perfect fit for coach Antonio Conte’s system due to his tactical flexibility, comfortable on both the left and right sides of the pitch.
So far this season Darmian has made 13 appearances for Parma across all competitions, providing one assist in that time. He has played the full 90 minutes of all of Parma’s games so far this season, except two games missed due to a thigh muscle strain.
