Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi discussed Inter’s tough 1-1 draw against Fiorentina on the Italian TV show Domenica Sportiva last night.

“In the Champions League Inter had a very difficult group with Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona. In the league I do not think that at the beginning of the year there were many people who were thinking that Inter could be on equal points with Juventus.”

“Inter are doing well considering all the injuries they have. On the press conference cancelled by Antonio Conte I think it is legitimate to respect the thoughts of all, through social media today we see bad things, what Antonio says is true.”

The Nerazzurri’s dropped points caused them to drop into second place in the Serie A despite being on same points as Juventus who earlier defeated Udinese 3-1. This is due to the fact that when two teams are on equal points in the Serie A their position in the league is decided on head to head encounters, with Juventus having defeated the Nerazzurri earlier in the season.
