Conte May Change System For Inter’s Match With Genoa Due To Midfield Injury Crisis

Due to the midfield being down to the bare bones as a result of injuries and suspensions, Antonio Conte could opt to change system for this weekend’s match at home to Genoa according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

Conte has almost always deployed Inter in a 3-5-2 system since taking charge of the club this Summer meaning three central midfielders are required but with numbers so low, he may be forced into changing to something that requires less central midfielders.

Stefano Sensi was originally due to be kept out until the turn of the year as the club did not wish to rush him back but the current predicament could lead to Inter trying to recover him for this game.

Lucien Agoume, who made his first team debut in the 1-1 draw with Fiorentina at the weekend, could well be given his first start.

The report also states that Milan Skriniar could even be deployed in the centre of the park. The Slovakian is primarily a centre back but often plays in midfield when on international duty.
