Fiorentina are set to move for an attacker in the upcoming January transfer window to make up for the absence of Franck Ribery according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
Veteran French winger Ribery injured his ankle a few weeks back and underwent surgery to correct the issue a few days ago with him expected to spend a reasonable time on the sidelines recovering.
La Viola, who currently occupy 13th place in the Serie A table, have identified two players who they could bring in to replace Ribery with one of those players being Inter’s Matteo Politano.
Politano has struggled for game time this season and has managed just two starts all season. Fiorentina had come in for him in the Summer but Inter manager Antonio Conte rejected their advances. However, things could be different come January.
The other player that Fiorentina are taking a look at is Sassuolo’s Domenico Berrardi. The 25-year-old has eight goals in 13 appearances this season for the Neroverdi.
