Genoa manager Thiago Motta is likely going to have to do without club captain Domenico Criscito for this weekend’s match away to Inter, according to a report from CalcioMercato.com.

Full back Criscito is having problems with his back following this past weekend’s Genoese derby loss to Sampdoria and did not train yesterday and his presence for Saturday’s match at San Siro is highly in doubt.

Motta may however be able to call upon Andrea Favilli and Stefano Sturaro for the match against the table topping Nerazzurri though.

Both players missed the Genoese derby with injury problems and their conditions will be tested ahead of Saturday evening’s encounter, which will be each side’s final game before the Serie A winter break.

Genoa head into this match sitting in 19th place in the standings and without a win in any of their last seven matches. Their last win came back in October as they won 3-1 against Brescia.
