Michael Yormark, the chief executive of Roc Nation, the agency who look after Inter striker Romelu Lukaku, has spoken on how the Belgian feels about Serie A’s latest attempt to take a stand against racism.
“It is up to the clubs and the league to take care of these things and protect the players because in the end it is the players that people come to see and the league and the clubs have a responsibility to protect them and create a positive environment for them to play in,” he told The Telegraph.
“At the moment, this is not happening in Serie A. Lukaku is very disappointed with how things have been handled this season. It is the responsibility of the league.
“They must indicate the direction, the tones, they must have a plan of action and put it into practice. It must start with them and then be applied by the 20 Serie A clubs. How can clubs take a tough stance against racism if the league has no idea what it is doing?”
