Oscar Damiani, a representative of Lille’s Boubakary Soumare, has discussed Inter’s alleged interest in his client ahead of the January transfer window.

“Inter are having an excellent season, they are in the lead and are a tempting club due to the fact they can offer the player the chance of Champions League football. Negotiations are difficult because he prefers Germany to Italy. At the moment there are no official offers from Italian teams,” he explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Punto Nuovo.

Soumare has been one of many midfielders that Inter have drawn links to as they look to strengthen their currently injury-hit midfield department.

The 20-year-old, who has been with his current employers since 2017, has made 22 appearances across all competitions. In 1501 minutes on the field, he has made no goal contributions but he has played primarily as a defensive midfielder.

Inter have also been linked with Arturo Vidal, Rodrigo de Paul, Dejan Kulusevski and Nemanja Matic among many others.
