Lokomotiv Moscow wish to sign Joao Mario on a permanent basis but wish to meet with Inter to see if they can sign him a a discounted price according to a report in today’s print edition of Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The Portuguese attacking midfielder joined the Russian Premier League outfit on a season long loan back in the Summer and as part of the deal, Lokomotiv secured an option to buy him permanently for €18 million come the end of the season.

The 26-year-old has impressed in his time with the Russian capital city club having scored once and provided four assists for his teammates in 12 appearances across all competitions. He is currently out injured with a fractured toe but is expected to make a return pretty soon.

Joao Mario joined Inter in a then club record transfer back in 2016 from Sporting but has never managed to settle in in Milan. He has made 69 appearances in Nerazzurri with him scoring four and providing 13 assists in the process.
