Inter’s elimination from the Champions League could cost them the chance of signing Arturo Vidal in the January transfer window according to a report from Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The Nerazzurri have taken a keen interest in signing the Chilean international to bolster their midfield department but it is understood that the fact Inter are not in the Champions League is slightly putting Vidal off.

Barcelona would like to keep a hold of the 32-year-old and make the most of his experience in their own Champions League campaign but the player has far from hid from the fact that he is unhappy with his current situation at the club.

The former Juventus midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at the Catalan club this season having appeared for just 642 minutes in 17 appearances across all competitions. In his time on the field, he has contributed four goals and provided a single assist.
