Premier League club West Ham United have sparked an interest in signing Inter striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa according to a report from FCInterNews.it.
The London club are the latest European based club to show an interest in the former Santos man, with Crystal Palace, Schalke and Real Valladolid also having shown an interest.
West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini is looking to bring in a new striker in January to change the club’s fortunes and believe that Gabigol is a player who could do just that.
The interest from the Hammers is understood to have Flamengo management worried that the 23-year-old could be about to be snatched from right under their noses.
The Rio de Janeiro club already have an agreement in place over his transfer but the player has long made it clear that he does not wish to discuss his future until after the Club World Cup which will be the end of Flamengo’s season.
