AC Milan have joined the race to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud according to a report in today’s print edition of Roman newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The Rossoneri have joined their city rivals Inter in showing an interest in signing the Frenchman, who has fallen out of favour at the Premier League club this season.
As per the report, Inter’s interest in the veteran has diminished slightly as of late due to the need to focus on strengthening other areas of the team in January but there has been contact made between the parties and Inter still remain ahead in the race as a result.
Giroud is seemingly keen to depart Stamford Bridge next month in search of more regular playing time as he seeks to secure his place in the France squad for this coming Summer’s European Championships.
This season Giroud has made seven appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored one goal.
