Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz has commented on the current situation with regards to negotiations with Inter over signing Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa on a permanent basis.

“We will immediately resume talks for Gabigol after the Club World Cup final,” he explained in an interview with Fox Sports Brazil.

“With regards to dealing with Inter, it is all good. It is a project that worked and we want it to continue. With Inter, things have been going well for three or four months now.

His transfer fee was negotiated about three months ago and it seems that there will not be any changes. We are very optimistic about signing Gabriel, the transfer fee is well below €22 million.”

Gabigol joined the Rio de Janeiro based club on loan back in January and has since went on to represent them 58 times across all competitions, in which he has scored no less than 43 goals and tallied 13 assists.
