Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has as good as confirmed that he will be making a January transfer window exit from Inter.

The 23-year-old striker has been out on loan at Flamengo in his native Brazil since January and as per many reports, he is set to complete a permanent transfer to the Rio de Janeiro club in the coming weeks.

“I believe that I will not return to Italy. I respect Inter because I have a contract but I am not very in touch with the club. Let’s see what happens, after the Club World Cup final,” he told the gathered media following Flamengo’s 3-1 triumph over Al Hilal at the semi-final stage.

“I did not have many opportunities in Inter. I only played a few minutes. It was an important period of my career because I played for Inter, who are a great team.

“I did not have many chances but it was still nice to be part of Inter. I learned so much from the players who were there.”
