Inter have been offered the chance to sign Gedson Fernandes from Portuguese giants Benfica according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.
The 20-year-old midfielder’s relationship with Benfica manager Bruno Lage is understood to have broken down after he failed to include Fernandes in the squad for recent matches.
Inter are currently evaluating the Portuguese under 21 international and their initial evaluation tells them that Fernandes will not fit the immediate needs of manager Antonio Conte but signing him could still be a good financial deal due to the high potential he has which could lead to making a decent profit on him in the future.
The Nerazzurri’s city rivals AC Milan had enquired about his availability this past Summer and were told he was available for €30 million although it is unclear whether the 37 time Portuguese champions still want that for him or not.
This season Fernandes has made 11 appearances across all competitions, in which he has contributed a single assist.
