Inter and Lokomotiv Moscow will meet in the coming weeks to hold talks over Joao Mario’s future according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

The Portuguese midfielder joined the Russian Premier League outfit during the final days of the Summer transfer window and his new employers have been left impressed by the EURO 2016 winner.

As part of the deal that sent him to the Russian capital, Lokomotiv secured an option to turn the 26-year-old’s stay at the Lokomotiv stadium into a permanent one for a sum of €18 million.

They are however hopeful that they may be able to convince Inter into accepting a lesser sum which could well mean that the former Sporting player completes a permanent switch during the January transfer window.

Since arriving in Russia, Joao Mario has made 12 appearances across all competitions, including four in the Champions League. In 1044 minutes on the field, he has scored one goal and provided four assists.
