Former Genoa sporting director Giorgio Perinetti has had his say on what he thinks the future holds for Inter owned Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa.

“Gabigol is a talented boy. Those who know him well say that he is not suited to Europe, or at least to Serie A. Perhaps he could do better in a league like the Spanish one,” he remarked in an interview with Il Fatto Quotidiano.

“I do not think he is part of Antonio Conte’s plans, Inter will want to cash in on him in order to buy other players. Could his future be at Crystal Palace? It may be the case. They had wanted Cristian Kouame from Genoa but then he got injured.”

The 23-year-old striker has been out on loan at Brazilian club Flamengo since January and has been in simply sublime form having scored 43 goals in 57 appearances across all competitions. He has also tallied 13 assists for his Mengao teammates.
