Inter are optimistic that Borja Valero will be able to overcome an injury problem to be at the disposal of manager Antonio Conte for this weekend’s match against Genoa according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The veteran Spanish midfielder is dealing with muscle fatigue in his calf and is currently following a personalised training schedule to help aid him in his recovery.

Due to the injury crisis in midfield in recent weeks, it has allowed 34-year-old Valero to play regularly and he repaid the faith shown in him with a goal against Fiorentina at the weekend.

The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to explain that both Alessandro Bastoni and Antonio Candreva are OK. The duo trained with the rest of the team and are therefore available for selection to face the struggling Rossoblu.

It also adds that Stefano Sensi and Roberto Gagliardini are getting closer to recovering with both partially joining the rest of the team in training before continuing some personalised training.
