Inter are serious about the idea of signing River Plate midfielder Cristian Ferreira according to a report in today’s print edition of Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The Nerazzurri club have already met and held talks with the the 20-year-old’s agent to understand the possibility of being able to bring him to the club as early as the January transfer window.
Inter could try to sign him on loan with an option to buy but the report warns that River Plate ultimately want any club who want to take him on loan to have an obligation to buy him instead.
Inter could always skip negotiations with the Argentine giants by simply paying his $25 million (approximately €22.5 million) release clause in his contract.
The report goes on to explain that the highly-rated Ferreira has drawn comparisons to many players lately including Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara, Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix, Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz and Real Sociedad’s Martin Odegaard.
