Dejan Stankovic is to be announced as the new manager of Red Star Belgrade tomorrow according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The legendary Inter midfielder, who will vacate his youth coaching role at the Nerazzurri to take up the position, will succeed the popular Vladan Milojevic, who resigned yesterday seemingly due to the club’s extremely poor Champions League campaign that saw them heavily beaten almost every game.

Stankovic will be formally presented to the media at a press conference at 1 pm tomorrow at the 1991 Champions League winner’s Rajko Mitic Stadium.

This move will represent Stankovic’s first foray into management and some reports have stated that he will put pen to paper on a two and a half year deal with the club where it all began for him as a professional football.

The 41-year-old came through the youth ranks and played for the first team between 1995 and 1998 before moving to Lazio. He then joined Inter in 2004 and went on to have nine trophy filled years with the club before retiring.
