Inter are hoping that striker Romelu Lukaku will be able to guide the Nerazzurri to victory in the game against Genoa this evening, due to the suspension to Lautaro Martinez, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 26-year-old Belgian striker has only missed four minutes in his last nine games, following on from the injury to Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez. The reason is because his incredible partnership with Lautaro, as well as the lack of alternative striking options, has forced Conte to deploy him as consistently as possible.

This means that Lukaku’s role against the Rossoblu today will be even more vital, the report highlights, considering that his 22-year-old Argentine striking partner is unavailable due to receiving five yellow cards in the league this season. The former Manchester United forward hasn’t scored in his last three league games, a fact he will try to change today.
