Inter have received some good news ahead of this evening’s league clash against Genoa, with Borja Valero fit and ready to play, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how the 34-year-old Spaniard has recovered from that muscle fatigue that forced him to leave the pitch against Fiorentina in the dying minutes of the game last weekend. He is now ready to play against Genoa, meaning Conte will only need to find one more midfielder to play alongside Valero and Matias Vecino.
The 50-year-old Italian coach has two options, the report highlights. He could change the formation to a 3-4-3, deploying two of Valentino Lazaro, Sebastiano Esposito and Matteo Politano alongside Romelu Lukaku up front. Conte could also stick with his beloved 3-5-2 formation, and choose between Milan Skriniar, Antonio Candreva and Lucien Agoumé to line-up in the midfield trio alongside Valero and Vecino.
Skriniar has experience playing in a midfield role from his time with the Slovakian national team, the report adds. Candreva initially started his career as a midfielder and so is comfortable in the role, whereas with Agoume Conte may not be ready to deploy the midfielder from the start, simply due to his young age and lack of experience. On paper Candreva seems to be the favourite to start.
Finally, considering that Roberto Gagliardini and Stefano Sensi took part in squad training yesterday, the report continues, both players could be on the bench in today’s game as well.
