Fiorentina are dreaming of appointing former Inter coach Luciano Spalletti next summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Florence based club dismissed previous coach Vincenzo Montella yesterday, due to his poor results with the club this season. Whilst the favourite to take over until the end of the season is Giuseppe Iachini, the Viola are dreaming of acquiring Spalletti in order to begin a new project at the club.

Italian American businessman Rocco Commisso, who owns the club, is keen for Fiorentina to grow into a strong and punishing team and thinks that Spalletti would be the perfect choice to oversee the project, the report highlights. The Italian coach reportedly won’t take a coaching job until next summer, in order to start work at a club and build something proper, rather than taking over at a struggling side.
