Inter are considering sending Italian forward Matteo Politano to Napoli on loan, in exchanged for Spanish forward Fernando Llorente, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 26-year-old Italian failed to appear again last night, in the Nerazzurri’s 4-0 win over Genoa. Instead, coach Antonio Conte deployed 17-year-old Sebastiano Esposito alongside Romelu Lukaku, showing how far down the pecking order Politano is. Whilst Conte suggested after the game that the choice was purely tactical and unrelated to the transfer market, the decision may show how little trust Conte has in the 26-year-old.

Therefore, the report continues, Conte may finally get his summer wish and sign the 34-year-old Spaniard from Napoli on loan. He has scored four goals and provided one assist in 19 appearances for the Partenopei this season. Llorente is considered a strong backup choice to Lukaku, due to his physical strength and aerial threat.
