Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal wants to join Inter in the upcoming January transfer window, but the deal may be hampered due to Barcelona’s requested figure, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The report details how the 32-year-old Chilean midfielder is unhappy at Barcelona due to a lack of consistent playing time. His agent, Fernando Felicevich, recently spoke to the Blaugrana’s management, suggesting a move away from the club may come in January. The player himself is keen to link up with Antonio Conte, who he worked with at Juventus earlier in his career.

However, Barcelona aren’t willing to give up on Vidal unless the deal is financially sensible, the report continues. Inter so far haven’t convinced the Catalan club of their offer and so will need to make an offer that the club can afford to accept, with the most likely outcome being a loan deal with a buy obligation attached. Whilst the player has a strong relationship with the other players at the club and with the club’s management, his relationship with coach Ernesto Valverde may push him towards a move away in January.
