Inter owned forward Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa discussed his future and the Club World Cup final against Liverpool when speaking to gathered reporters in the mixed zone after the game yesterday, with Italian media outlet FcInter1908 noting his words.
“With Liverpool it was an even game. We had a few opportunities to score. We’ve suffered, but now I’m on holiday and I’ll think about the future later.”
The 23-year-old Brazilian then elaborated a little more about the game, which Flamengo lost 1-0 in extra time thanks to a goal by fellow Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino.
“We had a great game, we could have scored but we didn’t succeed. We had a great team in front of us. We didn’t score but we created a lot. At the end they scored but it was a great game.”
Gabigol scored 34 goals and provided 11 assists in 43 appearances for the Brazilian club across all competitions, helping the club to win the Brazilian league title as well as the Copa Libertadores.
