Inter are close to signing Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, with the player potentially available from the Nerazzurri’s league clash against Napoli on the 6th January, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have been working hard to sign the Chilean midfielder for many months now, with coach Antonio Conte incredibly keen to reinforce the squad’s midfield in January, in part to the injuries to both Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella, which has massively reduced his options in the role.

Therefore, the report continues, Vidal is likely to be the first acquisition that the Milanese club make in the upcoming January transfer window, after the two clubs iron out the few remaining issues in their negotiations.

Vidal is reportedly keen for a move away from the Blaugrana, due to receiving so far not having an important role in the team under coach Ernesto Valverde.
