Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has been heavily praised for his impressive performance in last night’s 4-0 win over Genoa in a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the 26-year-old Belgian forward scored two goals and provided one assist in last night’s win, seemingly not shaken by his missing strike partner Lautaro Martinez, who was suspended from last night’s game.
Instead, he linked up well with 17-year-old talent Sebastiano Esposito, even gifting him a penalty to allow the teenager to score his first Inter goal in front of his mother and the rest of the Inter fans in the San Siro.
Whilst Lukaku isn’t always a standout performer, the report highlights, his leadership and hard work show why he is vital to coach Antonio Conte. He is already starting to erase the memories of Mauro Icardi, who seems destined to remain in Paris at the end of his loan spell.
