Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini discussed the club’s season so far and the strength of both Inter and Juventus in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN, after the Bergamo based club’s 5-0 win over AC Milan yesterday.

“We ended a fantastic 2019 where we have achieved wonderful results, it is the crowning achievement of this season. Now let’s take the right Christmas break and then we will have a lot of commitments.”

Gasperini touched on Atalanta’s goals in 2020 as well as the strength of the two league leaders.

“We want to get to Europe, the Champions League won’t be easy, Inter and Juve are unreachable. We are in that small group of teams. Europe for me and for Atalanta can be a constant thing, the ambition is that.”

Atalanta are fifth in the league table after 17 games, four points behind fourth place Roma. Inter will face la Dea in their second game of 2019.
