Newly appointed Red Star Belgrade manager Dejan Stankovic would like a friendly organised with Inter for next Summer according to a report in today’s print edition of Serbian newspaper Telegraf.
Stankovic has taken his first foray into management where it all began for him as a player and he wishes to face off against Inter, where he spent nine trophy filled years, to help his team prepare for next year’s Champions League.
Vladan Milojevic resigned from his position as manager due to the club’s horrific showing in this year’s edition of the competition. The 1991 winners, won just one of their six group stage games and lost the other five, which included some big losses against Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich.
Stankovic wishes to ensure that things go differently next time round and a friendly against Inter will allow his side to test themselves against a top side.
