Ionut Radu could return to Inter six months ahead of schedule depending on what Genoa do in the January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Genoese newspaper Il Secolo XIX.

The Romanian shot-stopper joined the Rossoblu club on a season long loan this past Summer and has cemented himself as the club’s number one but with Genoa languishing right at the bottom of the Serie A table, they are understood to be looking to change their fortunes in the second half of the campaign and goalkeeper is seemingly a position they wish to strengthen.

Radu has managed just two clean sheets in 17 league appearances this season and has shipped 35 goals, an average of just above two goals per game.

The report states that Genoa are seriously considering trying to bring Mattia Perin back to the club, even if only a loan basis. Should Perin arrive, Radu will in all likelihood be sent back to Inter and serve as understudy to Samir Handanovic.
