Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Weigl is the newest player that Inter are considering ahead of the January transfer window according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

It would appear that Inter were left impressed by the 24-year-old during their recent Champions League group stage clashes and he is the latest in a long line of midfielders to have drawn links to Inter, who wish to strengthen their midfield in January.

Weigl, who is primarily a defensive midfielder but also capable of playing as a central midfielder and even centre back, is under contract with the German side until the end of next season.

This season he has been virtually ever present in Lucien Favre’s side having appeared in 20 of Dortmund’s 26 games across all competitions. The five-time German international has scored a single goal in 1633 minutes of action.

Other targets for Inter reportedly include Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal, Atalanta’s Dejan Kulusevski and Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul.
