In his weekly editorial in Milanese newspaper Corriere della Sera, Mario Sconcerti has noted the improvements Inter have made under manager Antonio Conte.

“Inter have been a surprise this season. They are nine points better off than last season and are in first place in the league table. They have cancelled out the void between them and Juventus after nine years,” he began.

“Conte has done a great job. Some of the things he has said have been at the limits of what is acceptable but he has built something unimaginable on the pitch.

“The team is almost the same as last year yet it has been turned upside down. Some players have reappeared such as Borja Valero and Antonio Candreva. Conte has changed the soul of everyone.

“Conte, alongside Romelu Lukaku are the real differences this season. Conte and Lukaku are opposites to one another, so they actually complete each other, they manage to get the best out of the whole team.

“Inter does not have the quality to win in Europe but in Italy we will continue to see them win. We will see what happens.”
