In a column in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, legendary Italian manager Arrigo Sacchi has commented on Inter’s performance in their 4-0 win over Genoa at the weekend.
“The Nerazzurri, despite the many injured players, got past Genoa easily. Only early on in the match did the Rossoblu try to do anything before they were overwhelmed,” he began.
“Inter played an excellent match and there were signs of evident progress. Inter used the usual 3-5-2 formation but were more attacking. In possession, Antonio Conte’s men moved the ball low and fast. They moved the ball well.
“As soon as they lost the ball, they attacked the dazed opponents with non-stop pressing. The pressing was major and frustrated the Genoa players. Inter will be a tough opponent for anyone until the end of the season.
“They have very high team spirit and motivation and there can be no doubts about Conte’s skills therefore the Nerazzurri will press more and more.
He concluded: “It will be a more uncertain and balanced Serie A than the previous ones. I hope for more fun and beautiful moments that in the end will see the most deserving team win the title.”
