In an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio, former Inter defender Riccardo Ferri has discussed the race for the Serie A title.
“If Inter manage to sort out their injury problems and if Sarri continues to fail to make his mark at Juventus, we could see a race for the title until the final day of the season. It will also depend a lot on the January transfer window, especially for the Nerazzurri,” he explained.
He was then asked which of the many players to have drawn links with Inter he would sign if he were in charge.
“We are talking about different players who have different characteristics, but if we are talking short term, Arturo Vidal can have the biggest effect. If we look longer term, Kulusevski will be able to reach very high levels.
“The team needs to grow and needs some spare parts. It is important to have two quality players per role. Conte knows exactly where the team can improve.”
He also spoke on Inter’s club record signing Romelu Lukaku.
“I have been following him since he was very young when he played in Belgium, he embodies the role of centre forward and has made the position his own.
“Giving the penalty to Esposito speaks volumes about the positive attitude he has. I like him because he gives everything for the cause. He has the attitude of a true leader.”
