A report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo have linked Inter to unhappy Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena.

The report details how the 21-year-old Spanish midfielder has only made five appearances across all competitions for the Blaugrana so far this season, struggling to make regular first team appearances due to coach Ernesto Valverde preferring other options in the midfield department.

Whilst the player has received offers from many interested clubs, including fellow Spanish sides Sevilla and Real Betis, as well as AC Milan, now Inter are linked with the player.

The reason for Inter’s interest, the report continues, is due to the difficulties in negotiating for Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal. The Catalan club want at least €20 million for the 32-year-old Chilean, a figure too high for the Nerazzurri considering his age.

Therefore, Alena is considered a better investment due to his young age and lower wage demands.
