Inter’s head of youth development Roberto Samaden has reflected on how the year has went for the Nerazzurri’s academy.
“It has been a positive year for us. Seeing a guy like Esposito playing in the first team and taking his first steps at San Siro is worth a lot to us,” he began an interview with Inter TV.
“Competing internationally is fundamental for the players growth. The Youth League is the main competition and this year we saw the team grow. These games allow the kids to have a double training experience on and off the pitch.
“We like to think that there is more to training than just what happens on the field but off it too. Our goal must always be to make the girls and boys of the academy grow.”
He concluded: “We chose to go with a very young Primavera team but it allows the kids to grow better. This was something we agreed with Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin. We must try get the kids experience in better quality leagues so they can grow.”
