Matteo Politano’s former manager Pasquale Marino believes that he would be an ideal signing for Napoli in the upcoming January transfer window with many reports lately suggesting a possible swap with Fernando Llorente could be on the cards.

“Unfortunately Conte’s system doesn’t suit him. Inter play with two striker and Alexis Sanchez is also close to returning. It will be hard for Politano to find space and he rightly wants to play,” Marino, who managed Politano at Pescara, told TuttoNapoli.net.

“Moving to Napoli would be an excellent solution for both him and the club. He could play more regularly and Napoli would be getting a player who fits Gattuso’s style of play. Of course, Jose Callejon is already there but they have different qualities to one another.

“I really think he would do well in Naples. He has great character and at Inter he has shown that he has not suffered from joining a bigger team.”
