Barcelona are looking at reinforce their squad with two Inter players next summer, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper Sport.
The report details how the Blaugrana are keen to sign 24-year-old Italian midfielder Stefano Sensi and 22-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez next summer.
The Catalan club consider the former Sassuolo midfielder a ‘new Xavi’, considering his strong ability to dictate play and set the tempo from the midfield department, resembling the former Barcelona star.
Lautaro, the report continues, is considered the ideal heir to the aging Luis Suarez. The 32-year-old Uruguayan striker’s contract expires with Barcelona in the summer of 2021, hence why the Catalan club are already searching for a suitable long-term replacement.
However, Lautaro’s €111 million release clause may push Barcelona to look for alternatives instead, especially considering the Financial Fair Play implications. The Nerazzurri are hoping to offer a new contract to Lautaro next summer.
