Atalanta are hopeful of having star striker Duvan Zapata back in peak condition for next month’s Serie A match away to Inter, according to a report from Bergamoesport.it.

The clinical Colombian has been out of action since the beginning of October due to injury and manager Gian Piero Gasperini hopes to have him back available and at least in the squad to face Parma in the first match back following the Serie A winter break. The 28-year-old may even get the chance to get some minutes in his legs against the Ducali.

Zapata, who had a real breakthrough season last season as he netted 28 goals in 48 games across all competitions, has managed to carry that form into this season and dispel the idea that last season could have just been a fluke.

In nine appearances across all competitions, the former Sampdoria and Udinese forward has netted seven goals and also provided three assists.
