Real Madrid have made an enquiry about the availability of Inter striker Mauro Icardi according to a report from FCInterNews.it.
Icardi is currently out on loan at reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain, who have an option to sign him on a permanent basis from Inter for a sum of €65 million.
PSG sporting director Leonardo and the rest of PSG’s management are keen to sign Icardi up on a permanent basis but Real Madrid’s interest could put a spanner in the works this because Icardi has the power to veto a permanent move to PSG if they activate their option to sign him.
A return to Inter is unlikely, as is a move to any other club in Italy, the report goes on to state. Juventus, who reportedly showed an interest, have instead set their sights on signing RB Salzburg’s Erling Haaland whilst AC Milan would be unable to afford a move that would cost them in the region of €200 million between the transfer fee and his salary.
