Edinson Cavani is on the verge of agreeing terms with Atletico Madrid to join them on a free transfer in the Summer and this will push Paris Saint Germain to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
Cavani’s deal in the French capital is due to expire at the end of the season and he looks set to call time on his time with the Parisian’s in order to go and play under Diego Simeone at the Rojiblancos.
Icardi is currently on loan at PSG from Inter and they have an option to sign him for a reported €70 million and once Cavani’s exit is confirmed, they will activate their option on the 26-year-old Argentine, who has been in fine form since arriving at the Parc des Princes.
In 18 appearances across all competitions, Icardi has scored 14 goals and given three assists to his teammates.
