Diego Forlan has admitted he has zero regrets about joining Inter despite how things never really panned out as expected for him at the club.
The legendary Uruguayan attacker spent just one season with Inter, the 2011/12 season, but a series of injuries prevented him from showing what he had shown elsewhere whilst he was donning the Nerazzurri shirt.
“I do not regret going to Inter at all, because injuries are things that can happen,” he remarked in an interview with Uruguayan newspaper El Pais.
“I am calm due to knowing that I did my best, even if it did not pay off. I did the same things that I had done in all my previous teams in that I applied the same professionalism, the same attitude and the same work ethic, but unfortunately I got injured, and things did not work out for me there.”
Forlan made 20 appearances during his time with Inter, in which he scored two goals and provided three assists.
