The future of Inter owned striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa is still uncertain, with Brazilian club Flamengo not matching the figure requested by the Nerazzurri and the player dreaming of a move to the Premier League, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 23-year-old Brazilian striker’s loan deal with Flamengo will expire in a few days, but considering that the Brazilian club haven’t met Inter’s requests yet, he will return to Milan in January, even if he won’t step foot in Inter’s training ground nor work with coach Antonio Conte.

Inter want at least €20 million for Gabigol, the report continues, but negotiations with the Brazilian champions haven’t progressed and now a deal looks more and more unlikely. The player is now dreaming of a return to Europe, with a move to the Premier League particularly enticing. No English clubs have approached Inter for the player, however, leaving his future uncertain.

Inter’s preferred solution, the report highlights, is a sale to Flamengo soon, in order to allow the Nerazzurri to reinvest the funds earnt by his sale in the upcoming January transfer window. The player himself still needs to be convinced of remaining in Brazil, rather than returning to Europe.
