There is a possibility that Inter won’t sign a new forward in the upcoming January transfer window, in order to allow teenager Sebastiano Esposito more regular playing time, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how both Matteo Politano and Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa are to be sold in the upcoming January transfer window, in order to give the Milanese club more funds to reinvest into the squad. The priority isn’t a new forward, but instead a new midfielder and left back.
Inter have been in contact with Chelsea to discuss both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri, the report highlights, and have used these discussions to also talk about unhappy Frenchman Olivier Giroud. If the Nerazzurri sign a new forward, Esposito will suddenly find a lot less playing time, especially considering the imminent return of Alexis Sanchez. The 17-year-old Italian striker could be a good alternative in the Europa League, unless a new forward arrives in January.
