Inter are preparing a plan B in case the deal for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal fails to materialise, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how the Nerazzurri management, namely CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio, are working on signing Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez. The excellent relations between the two clubs is likely to help facilitate the deal, with Inter hoping to sign the Uruguayan on loan in January.
Furthermore, due to the performances of Inter owned midfielder Radja Nainggolan at the Sardinian club, they may be more willing to please the Nerazzurri, the report highlights. Considering that the Milanese club’s main goal is Arturo Vidal, the deal is unlikely to be completed until the final days of the January transfer window, and only if the Chilean midfielder is set to remain with Barcelona. Nandez has a slightly strained relationship with the Rossoblu due to issues surrounding his image rights.
