Inter are looking to sign a new forward in the upcoming January transfer window, although coach Antonio Conte’s bad relationship with Chelsea may hinder any potential dealings, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Repubblica.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are looking to sign unhappy Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud, whose contract expires with the South London club next June. However, Conte’s poor relationship with the Blues – stemming from a legal dispute he won against them following his departure – may hinder any deals between the two parties.

This is worrying for the Nerazzurri, the report continues, considering that Inter are also following Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri at the club. Chelsea are asking for high prices for these players due to this poor relationship. This is why Inter are now looking to swap Italian forward Matteo Politano with Napoli forward Fernando Llorente instead, as the deal is considered more achievable in the January transfer window.
