Inter are considering signing Gaetano Castrovilli on loan as an alternative to Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to a report in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Libero.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are still focusing their full attention on signing the 32-year-old Chilean, who seems destined to leave the Blaugrana following on from his public complaints about unpaid bonuses from last season. If the deal doesn’t materialise, however, then the Nerazzurri are considering Castrovilli as an alternative.

The key to the deal, the report highlights, would be Italian forward Matteo Politano. Fiorentina are keen on the 26-year-old striker, who has failed to convince coach Antonio Conte of his qualities this season in Milan. Therefore, Inter could look to send Politano to Fiorentina in exchange for Castrovilli on a dry loan swap, opening the possibility of signing the 22-year-old Italian midfielder permanently further down the line. Castrovilli is also being followed by Juventus.
