Inter are considering signing Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez on loan if the deal for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal fails to materialise, according to a report in today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are prepared to offer around €15 million for the 32-year-old Chilean midfielder but considering that Barcelona recently sent Carles Aleña on loan to Real Betis, the Catalan club are in no rush to send away Vidal, despite the recent rift over unpaid bonuses.

Therefore, considering the return of all of Inter’s injured midfielders, the Nerazzurri are thinking about alternatives to Vidal in case the deal isn’t completed, the report continues. Inter could look to approach Cagliari in the final days of the January transfer window for Nandez and only if the Vidal deal is truly incompletable.

Nandez has made 18 appearances across all competitions for the Sardinian club so far this season, scoring one goal and providing three assists in that time.
